Student Opportunities

HPSSC aims to build innovative academic and research environments focused on human performance and sport science.
Mason Ferlic

The UM Human Performance & Sport Science Center combines experiential and academic learning that enhances critical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability. Students develop a comprehensive skill set that prepares them for future careers and engagement in sport and human performance areas. These opportunities foster personal growth, professional readiness, and a deeper understanding of their chosen fields.

In sum, engaging in both experiential and academic opportunities not only enriches a student’s educational journey but also prepares them for the complexities of the professional world. HPSSC provides these opportunities through our core research lab, MiPR, internships, and a new initiative with Athletics hands on experiences that address research, evaluation, wearable technology use, or validation goals related to human performance or sports science. Additionally, HPSSC offers each academic year undergraduate general education courses that introduce students to topics in human performance and wearable devices and data analytics.

If you are interested in our experiential and/or academic opportunities with HPSSC, we would like you to review information on our website and connect with us via our interest form. We will provide timely replies to your inquiries.

We look forward to hearing from you!
